Tasmanian Government Manufacturer Award
The Tasmanian Government Manufacturer Award is presented to the business which has achieved outstanding export achievement in the manufacturing sector.

The winner of the 2011 Tasmanian Government (Small to Medium) Manufacturer Award is: Roadside Products Pty Ltd
Roadside Products is the manufacturer and distributor of Dura-Post guide and marker post systems. The Dura-Post brand represents the most extensive range of guide and marker post systems available in Australia and internationally. The range includes semi flexible steel posts, tubular steel guide posts, fully flexible 360 degree guide and marker posts, and flexible PVC and high strength engineered polymer delineator posts.
Setting it apart from Australian and international competitors is Roadside Products' ability to provide and install a broad range of solutions with speed and efficiency. Dura Post guide posts are now the only Malaysian Government approved guide post to be used on Malaysian federal roads, with over 50 000 guide posts installed from September 2010 to June 2011. During the past year they have also supplied their guide post systems to New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

The slow growth in exports over the past year suggests that the strong Australian exchange rate is continuing to have an adverse effect on Tasmanian exports. Nevertheless, Tasmanian exporting businesses have achieved some sound results with over $3 billion in revenue from overseas merchandise exports.
